People:  God is our Hope

All:  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen. (Romans 15:13)

Prayer

Creator God, we  come to you today in prayer for all of those who have been and are being harmed by human trafficking and exploitation. In this Human Trafficking Prevention/Awareness Month, we pray for an end to this evil which affects so many.in our world and in our own neighborhoods.

We thank you, oh God, for those who have come out of the darkness into the light. Help us to minister to them wisely, to support them in healing and growth, and to love them just as they are, where they are. Grace us and lead us in this work.

And for those who are still in the darkness, oh God, help us all to be beacons of light that draw them to safety, to healing, to you. Amen

All: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen. (Romans 15:13)

Sharing Hope in your Community

During Human Trafficking Awareness month, here are a few things you can do to bring awareness and support vulnerable women.

  • At your worship service or community event, light a candle of hope to symbolize those who are in darkness. You can have a moment of silence or share a prayer.
  • Plan an awareness display at your church, library or public building with information and resources about human trafficking.  (www.allhandsinmass.org) (https://www.dhs.gov/blue-campaign/what-human-trafficking)
  • Invite a member of All Hands In to come speak to your group in 2025 to learn more about the issue of human trafficking and how it affects your community
  • Having an event? Invite the All Hands In (Take My Hand) Rolling Store to sell survivor made and fair trade products to support AHI programs.
  • Host a book discussion that highlights women’s issues (human trafficking).  www.allhandsinmass.org
  • Check in with your local police department to learn more about the training they have received and how you may support law enforcement.

Human trafficking affects millions across the globe.

January 11, 2025, is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, aka #WearBlueDay.

  • Throughout the month, Blue Campaign hosts several special events and educational activities, with a spotlight on #WearBlueDay.
